Gareth has experience producing safety deliverables to NATS and the MoD including software safety cases, event tree analysis, statistical analysis and FMECA. These were delivered for safety-related Air-Traffic control and distress and diversion systems.
Defence Safety
Gareth has over 12 years experience working in the defence sector for both the UK MoD and the Canadian DND. He has delivered safety case documentation for a range of IT systems across all 3 arms of Defence: Royal Navy, Army and RAF.

A Chartered Engineer with over 22 years experience working in the IT services industry Gareth has a wealth of real-time software-engineering and project managment experience across the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
Primarily a software safety expert Gareth also has considerable experience of Hardware safety, Occupational Health Hazard Analysis (OHHA) and Environmental impact analysis.
He has produced safety deliverables (including System and Software Safety Cases) to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and National Air Traffic Services (NATS).

Environmental
Over the past decade or so the engineering discipline of safety has been increasingly concerned with the environment. While as safety engineering considers the impact of systems upon people; environmental engineering considers the impact of systems upon the environment (i.e. their carbon-footprint).
Gareth has been involved with assessing Environmental impact for several large IT projects from the London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic Games to the MoD. Producing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and following the MoD's POEMS (Project Oriented Environmental Management System).
